Where is my portfolio stored?
In your browser's localStorage under the key
ll_portfolio_v1. It is not uploaded anywhere, there is no account, and clearing site data or using a different browser will hide it. Export a JSON backup if the numbers matter.How is average cost calculated?
When you add the same asset twice we combine the lots and calculate a quantity-weighted average cost. Unrealised P/L is current value minus that cost basis, not a realised tax gain.
Are the prices live?
They start from the saved snapshot and refresh only when you press Refresh prices. Live checks are cached for a minute, so repeated clicks do not create repeated requests.
Is this tax software?
No. It is a simple tracking tool, and it does not calculate realised gains, income or your tax position. For that you need dedicated tax software.
